China's Plastic Industry Sees Strong Growth in 2021: Profits Up 31.5%

         According to a recent report by China's National Bureau of Statistics, the country's plastic products manufacturing industry saw a year-on-year increase of 31.5% in profits during the first five months of 2021, with total profits reaching 130.1 billion yuan (approximately 20 billion US dollars). Meanwhile, the report also showed that China's plastic products output reached 50.2 million tons during the same period, up 23.2% year-on-year. Despite concerns over environmental issues and increasing pressure to shift toward more sustainable materials, the plastic industry in China continues to show steady growth.
